Tulip Chair (Knoll) Eero Sarrinen

One of my favorite pieces of this research project has been finding the unknown things about the chairs.  Any time I find something and go AH-HA…  I know I have filled that need.  I am currently looking into several chairs and designers where questions have popped up and need answers.  I love the one’s you can’t answer on the internet and have to go to a convention to speak to designers or manufacturers or just open a book.

The 1955 chair was designed as a fully fiberglass chair to go with Sarrinen’s Tulip Table.  The design was picked up and modified by a 1960’s tv show Star Trek.
