Diamond Chair (Knoll) Harry Bertioia

The Diamond Chair is a chair I have included in my designs much like the ghost chair I proclaim in defending my designs that my furniture decisions are influenced by  the transparent aspect of the chair.

“If you look at these chairs, they are mainly made of air, like sculpture. Space passes right through them.” – Harry Bertoia

The diamond chair is produced by Knoll again since 1952.  I once again point out how good design doesn’t have to change.  Intimate design on this scale can fit within spaces that are designed to hold them.  I have seen these chairs in settings from office buildings and elaborate homes to the porch of a solar decathlon house in Washington DC.  Good design should be comfortable in a NYC apartment and a Colorado Log cabin.
