Cesca (Knoll) Marcel Breuer

Let’s go back to 1950 when Marcel Breuer named this chair after his daughter Francesca.  The tubular frame has become iconic through it’s mass use in dining room sets.  Breuer was the protegé of Walter Gropius and the tradition of the Bauhaus is evident in this piece.

The term Iconic:

1. Of, relating to, or having the character of an icon.
2. Having a conventional formulaic style. Used of certain memorial statues and busts.
