Masters Chair Philippe Starck and Eugeni Quitllet

I have about 45 days until school starts and there are about 45 chairs in the collection I have been researching.  I figured I would start with the newest and work my way back.  Let’s see how we do.

Since The requirement of this blog was for the students to draw each chair I thought it only fair to challenge myself to draw the chairs in the collection.

Philippe Stark and Eugeni Quitllet created the Masters chair by emulating the forms of the Tulip chair by Eero Saarinen, the Shell chair by Charles and Ray Eames, and the Ant chair series 7 by Arne Jacobsen.  The combination of the forms creates a backdrop for the seat.  The polycarbonate structure is finished with a matte finish to prevent reflection.  As Kartell represents Stark’s Ghost, La Marie, and others it is the producer for the Masters chair.
