Curly Maple Bench with Walnut Splines (Brian Peck)

I realized I have posted pictures of lots of people’s pieces on this blog but I haven’t put any of my work.

This is a piece of wood I found at the lumber store.  As I walked past it I knew what it needed to be.  This is one time that the first picture in my mind matched the end product at the foot of my bed.  The three Walnut splines are mirrored in a second piece I did with Walnut stretchers.  I am still waxing that piece and it will be featured next week.

The side was done with a flowing or waterfall joint.  I had a great experience with this bench and will use the techniques I learned here in future projects.
