Welcome to the new year. Today starts a new class of chairs. We follow designers through 100 iconic chairs. The students research the designer, the chair, and all the information surrounding the chair to increase their awareness of design. This isn’t just an exercise of memorization but an immersion into an in-depth cultural exploration within design. The end result is a class of students that can take my passion with them and represent them intelligently in a design setting.
- "I had three chairs in my house: one for solitude, two for friendship, three for society." Henry David Thoreau, in WALDEN
Chair CardsThis blog was started to track the exceptional work by the students of UNCG in the Interior Architectural Design Program. Our History 221 and 222 classes use these cards to help familiarize us with historically significant design and designers. The initial purpose is for the students, however, it will remain for comments and use by anyone interested in design. - Brian - BSPeck@uncg.edu
