Knoll Represents Harry Bertoia’s works and this is a wonderful example of his work in metal. The Diamond chair is a fluid form of woven metal that obviously forms diamonds in the negative spaces. Audra Volpi found these two at the Solar Decathlon in Washington DC earlier this semester. I try to repost any pictures that people send to me and this one slipped through the cracks. The use of classic pieces in the Solar Decathlon shows the appreciation for design and their prominent placement is probably overlooked by many of the visitors but their beauty is not lost on those that have been through Patrick’s 221 class. Keep an eye out for those chairs.

Chair CardsThis blog was started to track the exceptional work by the students of UNCG in the Interior Architectural Design Program. Our History 221 and 222 classes use these cards to help familiarize us with historically significant design and designers. The initial purpose is for the students, however, it will remain for comments and use by anyone interested in design. - Brian - BSPeck@uncg.edu
