I have spent so much time discussing the value of aesthetic design I was struck by a friend of mine’s comment about her favorite “comfy chair” in the UNCG Library. I don’t know the designer or even the material but what matters is that it is comfortable! Sitting in the library for a long time requires effort and a chair that is comfortable. The aesthetic qualities may be interesting and we do study our classics but I think Archie Bunker would agree that it isn’t how it looks but how it feels.

Chair CardsThis blog was started to track the exceptional work by the students of UNCG in the Interior Architectural Design Program. Our History 221 and 222 classes use these cards to help familiarize us with historically significant design and designers. The initial purpose is for the students, however, it will remain for comments and use by anyone interested in design. - Brian - BSPeck@uncg.edu
