During this seasons High Point Furniture Market I spent three days looking through the showrooms. For those of you who have never been to a High Point NC Market, that means I saw about 1/10th of the market (maybe).
I stopped by Robin Wade Furniture and talked to him about his pieces. The showroom was filled with simple pieces with simple lines. The materials were magnificent and the attention to detail on joinery, finish, and aesthetics were excellent. I have often wanted to go back and explore what exactly a “Chair” needs to be. I found the most simple chair form here at Robin Wade Furniture.
Materials used for his craft are all harvested within 60 miles of his shop. He works the pieces in his own mill and does excellent work. His expertise with computers is likewise impressive. I love his “Log Blog”… http://www.robinwadefurniture.com/logblog/ and recommend it to anyone who has a few minutes to look.
