The Eames DKR chair is a wire framed chair, Dining Height, R-wire Seat and a K-wire base. Below is show several student drawings with variations. The seat cushion was not an original part of the chair, Ray and Charles Eames designed the chair strictly out of metal. The Bikini pad shown on several of the chairs below was not part of the DKR chair but released in 1960 by Herman Miller and designed by Charles and Ray.

Chair CardsThis blog was started to track the exceptional work by the students of UNCG in the Interior Architectural Design Program. Our History 221 and 222 classes use these cards to help familiarize us with historically significant design and designers. The initial purpose is for the students, however, it will remain for comments and use by anyone interested in design. - Brian - BSPeck@uncg.edu
